Picture this – you finally made it to your favorite performer’s concert, and not only that, it was in a beautiful city that you’ve never been to before. While sightseeing, you take many pictures and record almost the entire concert so you don’t forget the way you felt that day. Sounds pretty great, right? Until you get home, only to realize you left your camera on the airplane. Not only that, but they are unable to find it so you never get those digital memories back. This was my real-life nightmare.

World Backup Day is a reminder to all of us that the photos and videos that mean so much to us, can be lost in a blink of an eye. Whether we lose our device, a hacker removes all of our digital documents, or you have a faulty hard drive, if we don’t back up our digital files it can turn into a very devastating situation.

Today, March 31, is World Backup Day. There is an entire day dedicated to backing up our data, so what’s the best way to keep your memories safe?

How to Backup

  1. Invest in an external hard drive, USB stick, or purchase some space in the Cloud. While you’re waiting for your file transfer to reach 100%, take a moment to schedule future data dumps because let’s face it, one day a year isn’t nearly enough.

  2. Take the pledge to back up your phone, computer, tablet, and all other coveted devices and share with the world using hashtag #WorldBackUpDay

  3. Like the website worldbackupday.com says – Don’t be an April Fool. Backup your files and check your restores on today.

While CHR Managed Services doesn't provide services for individuals, we wanted you to be aware that backup should be done on a personal level as well as a corporate level.
